2007 is here, and with it a new MacWorld Stevenote - usually a great opportunity for drinking games (“boom” = take a shot). I didn’t follow the keynote, nor did I watch much of it afterwards - didn’t seem that interesting for me. While I am, as you can tell by this web site, a friend of small gadgety things, I am a fan of things that allow me to create/produce things rather than pure consumption devices (which is also the reason why I don’t own an iPod but a MiniDisc recorder. Ask me again when the Apple TV is hackable or the iPhone runs custom softare (and comes for $99 with my phone contract).
In other news, 3Dconnexion released a beta version of their official OS X drivers. I will be updating MIDI Navigator to use them instead of the raw USB HID commands and also update the Pixels:3D plugin and my Poser 7 plugin. Yes, you heard it here first - I have a very early Poser 7 plugin for the Space Navigator working here too, and I even hear that 3Dconnexion was using them to demo their products at MacWorld SF. Fun stuff.
